Our supply logisticians make sure our projects are equipped with everything that's needed to deal with an emergency. As a supply manager, you will analyse in-country contexts in order to design, plan and set up a relevant supply chain, build the capacity of local staff and work closely with all departments to ensure accurate forecasting and emergency preparedness.

Life in the field
Conditions of employment
MSF Sweden is recruiting several Supply profiles for the pool to be available for projects in the field. During the recruitment process applicants are validated for the position as Supply Manager for the field projects. Members of the pool are then matched for a specific mission that corresponds with their previous professional experiences. Applicants therefore need to be prepared to go to any type of context and motivated to go for several missions with MSF.
You are employed in Sweden for the entire duration of the mission. Those of you on your first mission receive a salary of 13,059 SEK or 1,476 € depending on if you live in Sweden or Finland. Compensation increases thereafter with experience and responsibility.
The salary is intended to cover living expenses in Sweden or in Finland. MSF pays for travel, accommodations, and per diem to cover meals etc. We also provide excellent insurance coverage, medical examinations and any necessary vaccinations.
An assignment usually lasts for 6-12 months. We therefore require you to be available for that length of time. Depending on your project and your role, assignments may be longer or shorter. Fieldworkers get a week off every three months.

The position as Supply Manager
We are looking for those with prior coordinating experience; problem solvers that can make things happen - fast!
As supply-logisticians, you are responsible for everything related to material procurement: order management, local / international purchasing, inventory and monitoring, international / national import and transport, streamlining the flow of material and information. You are responsible for all materials from construction materials and electrical products to food and medical supplies. Movement can be by truck, boat, plane, helicopter, motorcycle or donkey. Your challenge is to coordinate and never lose control; our activities must never be hindered by loss of material.
MSF logistician field workers require good communication skills, the ability to work independently and great flexibility. You will roll up your sleeves one day to release a flight, and the next day you'll dress up to handle import issues at the ministry.
Requirements for the position
- At least two years of relevant work experience
- Experience traveling in low-income countries
- Available for 12 months
- Good knowledge of English
- Solid experience in the following areas: procurement, order processing/purchasing, inventory management, import/export, transport/freight, stock management, warehouse management, supply chain development
Of additional merit
- Experience of working abroad with other humanitarian organizations
- Knowledge of French/Arabic/Spanish
- Experience in project management and/or project management
- Relevant University Diploma
